We’re pleased to announce a version of TinyPic for mobile devices.  We’ve created a mobile friendly version of TinyPic for use on mobile phones and devices with small screens.  To check it out, point your mobile web browser at http://m.tinypic.com/

Currently only registered account holders can use the mobile upload process.  To enable uploads from your mobile device, head over to your account settings.  Once you are there, be sure to enable Uploads via E-Mail.  If you would like to allow uploads via MMS from your mobile phone, be sure to enter your mobile number.

Once you have enabled this feature, you will be able to send e-mails from your account e-mail address or your mobile phone to m@tinypic.com. Make sure you enter your mobile number to send images from your phone. NOTE: If your e-mail or mobile number do not match your account settings, your upload will fail. Personal Blackberry accounts do not work at this time.

Nope. Thumbplay is not a game (I did think “one, two, three, four, I declare a thumb war.” Then I Googled thumb war and found Thumb Wars!)

Thumbplay is a company that aggregates, promotes, and delivers mobile content directly to members via Thumbplay.com. The site offers music, ringtones, videos, games and graphics through a membership-based, community experience. Kind of like TinyPic.

And now, TinyPic has partnered with Thumbplay so that you can upload images from TinyPic to your mobile phone.

For example, how do you get the perfect picture mobile?

1. Go to tinypic.com.
2. Open the image that you want to send to your mobile phone.
3. Click Send to Mobile in the Tools or Your Toolbox menu. A Download page displays.
4. Enter your mobile number.
5. Select the checkbox to agree to the Thumbplay terms and conditions.
6. Click text me for step 2. The next instruction is texted to your phone.
7. Respond to the text with “y” to accept the picture. Your picture is now available on your phone.

You asked, we listened….You can now upload media to your TinyPic account from your mobile device!

If you’ve been to TinyPic in the last couple of days, you probably noticed the yellow caption at the top of the window that calls attention to the new service. But we thought it would be nice to explain the ins and outs of using your mobile device to upload media. If you don’t already have everything set up:

1. Sign into your TinyPic account.
2. Click Settings. Your Account Settings page displays.
3. Select Allow uploads via E-mail in the Uploads via E-mail field.
4. Enter your Mobile Number.
5. Click Save Changes. Your new settings are saved.

Now what? Well, there are two things you need to know. First, you can only upload from the e-mail address that is on your Account Settings. Second, you can only upload from the mobile number that is on your Account Settings. But that’s fine. They are your e-mail address and mobile number after all.

OK! You’re ready to go. You have media that you want to send from your mobile device. Find your media. Send it to m@tinypic.com. That’s it! Now, you can sign into your account and see the media you uploaded in your My Stuff page. The last item you upload is the first that displays in your My Stuff page.
