Go Flock yourself!
December 24, 2008
Seriously. You really should get Flock for yourself. Think of it as a holiday gift!
Flock is a web browser that integrates with TinyPic and other image sharing and social sites. It lets you publish up to 1000 photos to TinyPic at one time! After you download the Flock browser, and install it, you are ready to go.
- Open the Flock browser.
- Log into your TinyPic account. You can:
- Enter the web address (http://tinypic.com) and log in.
- Click the Log in button below the TinyPic logo on the Flock – Getting Started page (if this page displays).
- Click the key icon
near the top left to open the Accounts and Services sidebar, then click TinyPic, and log in.
- Click the Open Photo Uploader icon
. The Photo Uploader displays:
- Drag images from the flock browser to the Photo tab. Or, click Choose Photos at the top left to choose images from your computer.
- Select the account to which you want to upload photos using the drop-down list at the bottom right. If you have only logged into your TinyPic account, that is the only account that you can choose.
- Click Upload, and choose your upload settings.
- Click Upload. Your selections are uploaded to your TinyPic account.
- Click Open the Mediabar to show the mediabar and your new uploads. Click back to uploader to upload more images.
Gravatars are Grrrrreat!
December 17, 2008
I’ll start with a definition of what a Gravatar is. A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an avatar image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name on gravatar enabled sites. The most popular place I’ve seen them used are on blogs and in comments.
Tinypic will now recognize yor Gravatar if you have one setup and show it when you share your account with others. It’s a nice way to personalize your account, especially with your favorite theme.
To setup your gravatar;
1) If you have a Tinypic account and a Gravatar, do nothing. It just works.
Otherwise;
1) Sign up for a tinypic account, - http://tinypic.com/join.php
2) Setup your Gravatar, - http://en.gravatar.com/
3) Enjoy some nice holiday cookies while everyone else enjoys your Tinypic album page! (Cookies are a recurring theme today)
Thanks to the folks at Gravatar for having such an easy service!
Vote for Tinypic
November 12, 2008
Yeah, the elections may be over and if you missed out or you just miss being able to vote you now have another opportunity. Mashable is hosting an Open Web Awards poll which allows you to vote for your favorite photo sharing site. I think Tinypic should win.
If you do to then please go to the site below and cast your vote! When you get to the page you will be able to select the category (photo sharing) and add the company (Tinypic).
Thanks.
Thumbplay? Is that a game?
September 25, 2008
Nope. Thumbplay is not a game (I did think “one, two, three, four, I declare a thumb war.” Then I Googled thumb war and found Thumb Wars!)
Thumbplay is a company that aggregates, promotes, and delivers mobile content directly to members via Thumbplay.com. The site offers music, ringtones, videos, games and graphics through a membership-based, community experience. Kind of like TinyPic.
And now, TinyPic has partnered with Thumbplay so that you can upload images from TinyPic to your mobile phone.
For example, how do you get the perfect picture mobile?
- Go to tinypic.com.
- Open the image that you want to send to your mobile phone.
- Click Send to Mobile in the Tools or Your Toolbox menu. A Download page displays.
- Enter your mobile number.
- Select the checkbox to agree to the Thumbplay terms and conditions.
- Click text me for step 2. The next instruction is texted to your phone.
- Respond to the text with “y” to accept the picture. Your picture is now available on your phone.
Fire in Denver
September 18, 2008
Usually I hear the fire trucks go by and barely pay any attention to them since they are either driving somewhere far away, false alarm, or some medical emergency it seems. Well today was different. There were a large number of trucks screaming by the TinyPic offices. This time when I looked out I saw them stop near the building near us that just happened to have a large amount of black smoke billowing out the side of it. This is new.
Check out some of the picture taken from both a digital camera and cell phone:
